The 2026 FIFA World Cup will mark Ghana’s fifth appearance on football’s biggest stage. The Black Stars return to the global spotlight across North America.
Co-hosted by the United States, Canada, and Mexico, the tournament runs from June 11 to July 19, 2026. The final is set for MetLife Stadium in New Jersey.
Ghana’s journey will take them through Toronto, Boston, and Philadelphia. They will face three high-profile opponents in the group stage.
Ghana at the FIFA World Cup: A Brief History
The Black Stars have previously featured at the World Cup in 2006, 2010, 2014, and 2022.
Their most memorable campaign came in 2010 in South Africa, where Ghana reached the quarter-finals. They narrowly missed out on a historic semi-final appearance. That run remains one of the greatest achievements in African football history.
At the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, Ghana exited at the group stage. This was despite standout performances from Mohammed Kudus, who scored twice.
Now, with renewed ambition, the Black Stars are targeting another deep run in 2026.
